Privacy Policy

Effective 4 August 2026

The short version

Mealens stores your food log, your weight and your dose history on your iPhone and nowhere else. There is no account to create, no server to sync with, and no analytics. We cannot see your data, because it never reaches us.

The single exception is your purchase, described below.

What stays on your iPhone

All of the following is written to your device’s local storage and never transmitted:

  • The foods you log, their portions and the time you logged them
  • Your protein goal and how it was calculated
  • Your weight entries and preferred unit
  • Your treatment: medication, dose, schedule, injection sites and history
  • Your app settings and language

Because this data lives only on your device, it is covered by your iPhone’s own protections. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, that backup is made and controlled by Apple under Apple’s terms, not ours. Deleting Mealens deletes this data along with it, and the app has a “Delete my data” button that erases all of it immediately.

Purchases

If you subscribe to Mealens Pro, the transaction is handled by Apple. We use RevenueCat, Inc. to verify your subscription status so the app knows whether Pro is active.

What RevenueCat receives is limited to purchase information: the product bought, whether the subscription is active, and an anonymous identifier generated for your installation. It does not receive your name, your email, or any of the food, weight or treatment data listed above. This identifier is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you across other apps or websites.

Apple’s handling of the payment itself is governed by Apple’s privacy policy. We never see your payment details.

What we don’t collect

Stated plainly, because several of these are things nutrition apps commonly do and we don’t:

  • No account, no email address, no password, no sign-in
  • No photos and no camera access — the app never asks for either
  • No HealthKit or Apple Health data
  • No location, contacts, or device identifiers for advertising
  • No analytics or usage tracking of any kind
  • No advertising, and no sale or sharing of data with anyone

This website

mealens.app is a static site hosted by Vercel Inc. Vercel processes standard server request logs, including IP address and browser type, to serve and secure the site. We set no cookies and run no advertising or analytics scripts on this site.

Your rights and your data

Rights such as access, correction, deletion and portability under the GDPR, the UK GDPR and the CCPA apply to personal data a company holds about you. For the app, we hold none — your data is in your hands, on your device, and you can view or erase all of it from within the app at any time.

For purchase records held by Apple or RevenueCat, or for anything else, write to us and we will help.

Children

Mealens is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If Mealens ever adds a feature that sends data off your device, this page will be updated before that feature ships, and the effective date above will change. We will not quietly start collecting something this page says we don’t.
